In Cobblestone, out in Stuart West, the owners came to us to build their forever home, and they were clear about what it had to do: welcome their family, and keep welcoming them for a long time. We carried it from pre-construction design through the build and the finish out. The result is a farmhouse organized around one soaring, open great room, with the kitchen, dining, and living spaces sharing the same volume, a separate dry bar off to the side, and a covered porch that opens straight out to the pool.
The ceiling climbs the full height of the gable, clad in white plank and crossed by stained collar tie beams that give all that volume a sense of scale. Built-in cabinetry and lit shelving flank the fireplace wall, and a separate dry bar sits just off the room, so drinks never have to cross the kitchen.
The kitchen, dining, and living spaces share a single vaulted volume, anchored by a long island with a stained X-detail base and seating for five. Whoever is cooking stays in the conversation, and a dinner for twelve never feels like it is happening in another room.
French doors off the great room lead straight out to a covered porch, then on to the pool and spa under a full screen enclosure. Travertine decking, lounge seating, and a shaded outdoor room extend the living space through the whole Florida year.
The Big Five are locked early in our process, so pricing is accurate before permits, and the finishes you fall in love with are the finishes you actually get.
